How great would it be to give up your day job to become a professional poker player?

Do you ask yourself if you could make money from online poker sites?

There is potential, but what differentiates success from mediocrity? When it comes to playing online poker it can be summed up in one word - DISCIPLINE. In order to remove the gambling aspect out of the game of poker we need to develop a sense of strict discipline with in our playing parameters. Most of us know how to play the game and some are definitely better poker players than others. So how can we gain that edge.

My philosophy is, if you are going to try and generate an income or at least supplement your existing one, you need to plan and treat the game like a business. If you set boundaries you can achieve your goals, even when playing poker for money.

Now I'm not talking about setting poker strategies and different playing patterns, I'm talking more about how you invest your money into online gaming sites. There are certain ideas you can implement to maximise your profits.

Most players will deposit some money into a poker site such as 888 Poker or Full Tilt Poker and play with their money in the hopes of growing a fortune. BUT at what point do you increase your betting amounts? At what point do you withdraw money from your account? Who's money are you playing with?

Yes, who's money are you playing with?

Let's say you have an account with $1100 in it. You want to break it up into 10 x $100 ($10 rake), 10 player turbo tournaments. If you belief you are good enough to average one win ($500), one second ($300) and one third ($200) out of 10 games you will end up down the $100 rake. This is with a result of not placing in the top 3, 7 out of 10 times (I think that is conservative if you're good enough)

Now, as I'm sure you're aware, different poker sites offer great bonuses to entice you to open an account, so why not take advantage of them.

So why not take that $1100 out of your original account and open two new accounts with $550 each. If you find the right online poker site they will give you a 100% free sign up bonus, increasing each account to $1100. You will then revert back to your $100 game plan, meaning you can now play in 20 x $100 ($10 rake) tournaments. If your results are averaged as above, you may get 2x1st ($1000), 2x2nd ($600) and 2x3rd ($400).

That is a profit of $900 or over 80% return on your initial investment. That's not even looking at your playing style, your strategies, your betting frequencies. Obviously not everyone will get the same results, some may expect not to place in 80% of games, some may believe they're better and average a return on 50% of tournaments. You may also choose to play 10 x $200 tournaments, or cash games, or your pot maybe a lot smaller. I am not recommending you will be able to achieve these results as I have no idea of your standard, you need to work these sorts of statistics out yourself to decipher whether you can make a profitable return.

You probably find yourself asking, how can you get away with it? Why would poker sites allow you to continue doing this?

This is where the secret lies. Gambling sites are fully aware that 95% of investors will opt not to withdraw any money as they will see such a benefit from winning, that they will continue to try and make their account grow. Most will end up losing it and depositing more. How are we different - we have DISCIPLINE. We know that if we withdraw the $2000, we can reopen 2 new accounts with our initial $1100 and pocket the $900 profit.

One thing you must also, is the possibility of a bad run. The above figures are based on a 30% chance of coming a place in the 20 tournaments, but let's say you only had 3x2nds out of these 20 games - you still finish with a profit of $100 after the rake. In comparison, if you used your existing account (without the sign up bonus) you would run at a loss of $200.

I know which I prefer. Money is good, greed is good, winning is great.

The key is to remember to PLAN and within that plan use great DISCIPLINE. Taking the gambling aspect out of poker will enhance your ability to build that float and actually benefit financially from the game you love. However, you must do your homework first. You need to know how big your float will be. What standard you are and where you can compete. And most importantly you need to know your break even results and your results capabilities. There is no point suggesting you can win 4 out of 20 x $200 games if you are not a good enough player.

You must play within your means.

So the questions remain with you, can you design a plan that fits your parameters and do you have the discipline to stick within those parameters.

Take a look at the many different poker sites out there. They all offer different sign up bonuses, just find the one that suits you. For example, 888 Poker offer a 100% sign up bonus for any deposit up to $400. You can check them out here:

The Power is in your Plan, your destiny is in your discipline.

Danny

Health and Focus to a Poker Mindset

Whether playing poker online or on live tournament games, endurance, stamina and concentration are key elements needed by every decent poker player. There are many books, websites and TV shows poker players can tune into to enhance their skills, but how do you improve your mental strength to endure the hours required to get results?

Concentration is something you can train for, you can apply yourself to different 'mind techniques'. However, if you do not look after yourself both physically and mentally, you will not exceed the use of your poker mindset.

So, what can we do to improve these skills?

Dieting and keeping physically fit are obvious ways of looking after your body, but how many poker players believe this is important to them becoming a better poker player?

BUT, it is time to take yourself to the next level if your really do crave to become that better poker player you want to be. As we have suggested in earlier postings, it is time to 'think outside the box'. So I am always on the search for different ways to improve yourself both physically and mentally. And it always helps when we can find FREE options.

This is where I came across an idea called Simpleology. This concept focuses on implementing simple ideas to increase your time, energy and money, three key sources every poker player would like more of. Simpleology has three simple levels:

To view these three simple levels and view the rest of this post, please visit the original Poker Power Blog. How serious are you about becoming a better poker player?

Some people believe that if they just practice something enough they will improve and eventually get good at it. This can be true, but seeking dominance and excellence requires a little more than just a bit of practice. Until you ascertain exactly what it is you want to achieve, you have little chance of getting to where you want to be. Of course there are many means of achieving your poker goals, but if you don't know what these poker goals are, how can you possibly achieve them.

To view the rest of this post please go to the original Poker Power Blog.

Head em up!!

Danny

Related Blogs

Full-time Mom, Part-time Professional Poker Player; Annie Duke’s Unconventional Career « Unconventional Jobs

Texas Holdem: Poker Tournament Strategy: Texas Holdem Poker in when to Aggressive | Rich Student - Rich Millionaires

hw321 » Three Free Poker Strategy Tips For You!

On How to be a Good Poker Player | Critical Online Tips

Sorel Mizzi Poker Player Profile | @ Poker News

Are mistakes fatal in poker?

This question is best answered by the individuals interpretation of what a mistake is. No human being can go through life and not make mistakes especially at the poker tables, no matter the enormity. BUT, it is how you react to the mistakes made that differentiates us.

I love making mistakes! I learn from my mistakes and I believe become a better person and hopefully a better poker player.

Poker is not just about one hand, or one game or one tournament. Poker is a learning process that will continue as long as the game evolves, which in my mind, is forever. In order to improve poker skills you must adapt to be able to turn your mistakes into positive learning experiences. As one of my favourite Einstein quotes suggests:

"the definition of stupidity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different result."

If you continue to make the same mistakes at the poker tables, it basically means you are not learning, you are not evolving. How can you expect to improve as a poker player and learn the game if you cannot learn from your own mistakes?

You will see people tend to beat them selves up for making mistakes. Try to avoid doing this. Now these may seem very simple and straight forward but it is amazing how many poker players out there simply dismiss them.

There are two ways to look at these poker tips, and because you want to become a better poker player this post is worth reading, first, you were unaware of these poker tips and you can use them to your advantage or second you are aware of them and you can watch for other poker players not adhering to them.

Simply put, the players not following these tips are obviously novices and will probably lose all there chips to the more experienced poker player.

Poker Tip 1. Wait to look at your cards

Our golden rule is to watch what other poker players are doing. How can you do this if you are looking at your cards? Wait until it is your turn to act then look at your cards, you should be concentrating on the players due to act before you, not on your own cards. The only time you should look straight away is under the gun (first to act sitting next to the big blind), but still, you can look for players after you that have already checked their cards.

To view the other 4 poker tips and the full article you may visit our original Poker Power Blog. Also known as suggestive language, you can learn to use these techniques to become a better poker player. If taught properly, practiced and executed to perfection, you can use this against your opponents when needed.

A very basic example, is a comment like "good fold" when a player mucks their cards. Done consistently and repetitively, the player will start to feel confidence in their good lay downs and it is likely to trigger certain feelings and emotions when done right.

Think about it this way, sometimes you hear a particular song that triggers a certain thought, emotion or memory. At these times, hearing the song instantly transports you to a time associated with that song, you feel, see and hear things as though you were back in that moment.

So in poker, if you have been anchoring the phrase “good fold”, when the timing is right and you have that opponent in a hand you want them to fold, a comment such as "it would be a good fold for you this hand" may trigger an emotion which suggests to your opponent’s subconscious that they should fold. When done correctly, just hearing the phrase, "good fold" will make them feel like it is the right thing to do. This may be considered a very low level of hypnotism.

Many players use these techniques and strategies, even though some don't realise the power of them. They don't learn to execute them properly and make comments purely because they heard someone else say them. Some don't even realise why these comments are being made. Or they heard a commentator use them on TV. The better players are generally aware of what and how they say things at the table. Table talk is a tool which can be used wisely to gain extra chips. Just remember these techniques are simple, but not necessarily easy. They take plenty of practice and I would suggest learning them properly before relying on them in big pots.

I am certain you have heard players make comments like "I love playing K9" or "I always lose when I get pocket bullets". Once you start embedding these commands on your psyche, you start to play the cards in your hand rather than the table. A simple mistake like having a favourite hand can become a hindrance when you stay in a hand just because you like what you hold. Similarly, you are likely to make costly errors when you have cards you feel you don't regularly win with.

Now I try and get out once a week to a local free tournament, whether it's APL, NPL or whatever. I manage to slip in a few beers, but my main aim is to observe, learn and practice new and existing techniques on unsuspecting opponents. Last week was no different, other than to my amazement, finding a particular opponent who had fallen in to the trap of placing suggestive language on himself. My amazement wasn't in that he had done it, it was the degree to which the hands he suggested he wanted to play. He commented on the fact that the last time he played he noted that every time he folded a King, he would have won the hand. He also said he never seemed to win hands with Ace high kicker. Over the next half hour he was caught playing Kings and rags - only once pulling off a decent pot on the river. His demise was short coming as the better poker players picked up on this and took a fair chunk of his chips. To add salt to the wound he finally pushed all in pre-flop, looking very disgruntled. Just one call saw him turn over A10 suited, need I say more? He soon headed for the door.

Believe it or not, this is a very common occurrence. We know the cards will fall the way they do, sometimes you’re lucky, sometimes you’re not. But placing values on certain hands in your subconscious will only lead to setbacks in improving your poker skills. Remember, you want to learn how to use suggestive language to become a better poker player, not hold you back.

Here is an example in sales where you can suggest an outcome to increase your chances of a better result. Which sales rep do you think would make more sales:

Rep A asks customer:

"Would you like to buy that shirt?"

Rep B asks customer:

"Would you prefer to purchase that shirt in red or blue?"

There is power in using suggestive language - if you are interested in learning about suggestive language, I have found a free report on conversational hypnosis, I suggest you take a look.

Remember, the power is in your hands, not your cards.

All the best,

Danny

Related Blogs

HLM Video of the Day – Japanese amazement at McGurk Effect « Exposing myth, distortion, corruption and the TRUTH

amazement «

Carefully Chosen Gift for Amazement

Management Problem-Solving With Apl;: A Guide To The Solution Of Typic | IntelDirect

Support the APL at Remy’s!! « Remy's on Monroe

ADANI POWER (BNP PARIBAS) | Capital Market

Live Tournament Freerolls

After sifting through forums there is the age old debate of freerolls vs money games in poker tournaments. Are there too many donkeys playing in the Australian Poker league Freerolls. You will find them where ever you go to play poker. There is credit to suggest that when playing for cash, poker players take it more serious and play more primo hands.

Is this the case?

A very good question. Are there monkeys that play in $10, $50, $200 games. Of course there are. You find these type of poker players everywhere. There is merit in playing poker tournaments with the mentality that money doesn't matter. In other words, you should have your own strategies and stick to them. That doesn't mean being stringent, you need to adapt to your table and play the poker tournament accordingly. I have spoken with many poker professionals and they all seem to suggest, money plays a big part in how the small 'fish' make their decisions. Where a player in a poker freeroll may call or raise, they find themselves not wanting to take the risk and make poor judgment. Compare this to freerolls and players are obviously more flippant and play weaker hands more frequently.

Our suggestion is, there can be enormous amounts of knowledge to learn from freerolls. It is hard to gauge a lot from your opponents, but more importantly this time should be used to learn more about your own game. This is the place to try new strategies and try new plans. However, you must have the discipline to think like it was a real cash game situation. It is about embedding processes into your subconscious so you act regardless of the value of the game.

Something to think about - it is all relative to your situation. Poker freerolls are common ground for people playing hands, chasing flops and staying in too long because they have nothing to loose. I believe this too would be relevant to player that earns $150k a year and is playing a $10 or $20 poker tournament. For them, $20 may mean nothing and are more than prepared to play poor hands. So just because your playing in a cash game, doesn't mean you will always get people playing tighter. It is all Relevant!!

Just remember, if you work on a plan, it should not matter what amount you are playing for. It comes down to knowing your opponents, this takes time and you need to be aware of what's going on around you. It's never only about the cards, it's about the opposition and whether you can get on top of them.

Keep fishing and land those big ones.

Happy hunting,
Danny

Related Blogs

Job News | Opponents Challenge Missoula’s Anti-Discrimination Ordinance

The Poker Tournament Formula

Pittsburgh Steelers: Ben Roethlisberger discipline forthcoming

Science-Based Medicine » The dangers of opponents of science-based medicine

Anthony trustee pulls gun on opponent’s husband | NMPolitics.net – Heath Haussamen on New Mexico Politics

Tea Party activists and opponents rally in downtown Issaquah : The ... | Kabonfootprint blog

Think Outside the Box!

Imagine achieving different results at the poker table. You do want to become a better poker player. You can, simply by thinking “outside the box”. Remember success is not created from repeating the same processes over and over. In fact, predictability can be a poker player’s worst enemy. At Poker Power we encourage you to be adaptable and think “outside the box”. Predictable players are easy to read at the table, so much so, they may as well throw their chips to the middle and rely on lady luck. Think “outside the box” and you will become an unpredictable player. Unpredictability can create that ‘edge’ which will produce higher stacks. Whether it’s at work, in relationships, personal development or importantly your poker strategies at the tables, your capacity to remain open to new possibilities and ideas will open doors for you.

I have a favourite quote of mine from the infamous Albert Einstein:

“The Definition Of Stupidity.…is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results”

It is time to stop repeating the same things over and over. We often hear about thinking “outside the box”, especially since it is the secret behind most successful people. Thinking “outside the box” involves looking at situations or ideas in ways you wouldn’t normally. It offers you the ability to consider problems in new ways thus providing fresh outcomes. Although as a phrase it is a common cliché, how often have you actually questioned;

“How do I think outside the box?”

“How can I think about things in less typical ways?”

Unfortunately, Poker players are renowned for ‘doing things the same way’, in other words, not ‘thinking outside the box’. How often have you watched players repeat similar patterns and heard them speak about the same things? For example they often make comment on how and when they raise certain hands. This habit is derived from a desire to mimic success and often individuals, especially poker players, fall into the trap of blindly copying people they believe are more experienced or ‘better’ than them. Although there is merit in learning from players with more experience and greater skill, it is more useful, when you put your ‘own spin’ on things. In practical terms, this means you will gain greater success when you think “outside the box” and develop your own practices, ideas and poker strategies. You can achieve this success by merging what you read, see and hear, to your own experiences. As you entwine these multiple ideas and actions you create your own valuable knowledge and action plan. It is the individuality of your ideas and strategies which will give you that unpredictable edge over your opponents.

To many people, thinking “outside the box” is a daunting prospect. They lack confidence in themselves and as a result, mistrust their own ideas or opinion. These are limiting beliefs which must be confronted and banished. Your ideas are valid and you can think “outside the box”. It is simply a matter of reaching past previous limitations. You will find yourself discovering new approaches to different situations.

Now we are strong advocates of NLP - Neuro Linguistic Programming, here at Poker Power and are happy to recommend our readers look into discovering some of the techniques to improve their poker skills. Quite frankly it defines thinking outside the box. You don't have to study poker to improve your poker skills. Now I have come across what looks to be a good product which may improve your way of thinking and enhance your mindset. Now admittedly I haven't heard of Adam Khoo, nor have I read any of his stuff. But if you have a spare $20 it may be worth looking into. Just click on the book below:

Here is a little Youtube video for your amusement, admittedly it is not to do with poker, but the message is clear:

Related Blogs

Personal Development Business: Its Advantages And Benefits

Online Poker Strategy Video: Playing Hands with “Bite” and semi-suited hands #31 | 24 Online Poker

Poker Strategy with Daniel Negreanu – table of tight players | Gambling 24

How does the general public perceive poker or professional poker players? | Roulette Bot Pro Review

Personal Development Mastery » Blog Archive » Why Positive Thinking Doesn&#39t Work

Poker Tells

I know their easier to find on Youtube, but I thought I'd post some of my favourites here. As always suggested, learning poker tells and improving your poker skills is about embedding info into your subconscious. Becoming aware of these body language signals can only help you improve poker skills. Plus I like to learn as much as I can from the pro's. Sit back and enjoy.

Mike Caro

Daniel Negreanu

Joe Navarro

I know when it comes to internet surfing and sites like Youtube it is very easy to get side tracked and waste time procrastinating over useless information, this is why I've added a few here that I have chosen out of the millions of video's. I believe the three of them are relevant when talking about poker tells and reading body language. These skills will never be the 'be all to end all' to you becoming the best poker player in the world, these are poker skills you need to add to supplement your ability. You should never rely solely on you ability to read poker tells. So continue fine tuning these skills along with other strategies you have chosen.

Good luck and happy travels.

Danny

Related Blogs

Mike Caro’s 10 Ultimate Poker Tells | Poker Riches

Learn About Poker » Blog Archive » Poker: Earning A Good Living

The Greatest WSOP Comeback of All Time | UK Poker Player

Procrastinating Stellar Kart
| Beating Procrastination

Mike Caro’s 10 Ultimate Poker Tells

Reading Female Body Language - How To Understand Women - How To Improve Your Relationship » Female Body Language

Online VS Live Poker

I was going to write a post on online poker vs live poker, but I found this on youtube that sums it up perfectly. Something to think about from the expert - Daniel Negreanu.

You do have to adjust your game accordingly, it pays to be prepared and plan your moves. Here Daniel suggests his importance of reading opponents in live poker and how he has adjusted to online gaming. Even the pros know there is a difference. Have you learned to use different tactics depending on your medium? This is an obvious reason why we published the book, Poker - The Power of body language, for live tournament players, but beware of the necessity to apply different strategies online.

Something to think about when planning how you are going to succeed at poker.

Shuffle up and deal!

Danny

Related Blogs

Online Poker Tips » Blog Archive » Inside The Poker Mind Daniel Negreanu part two

PokerHeadline.com – Poker news and reviews » Blog Archive » Daniel Negreanu is “Kid Poker”

Daniel Negreanu’s insanely bad beat against Gus Hansen | Best Poker Moments

Daniel Negreanu's Woes Continue on High Stakes Poker | @ Poker … | High Stakes Poker Season 6

Balloon Juice » Blog Archive » I Thought He Was a Poker Player

dipped in dollars » Body Language, “Sandwiches” Remixed

Poker - The Power of Body Language

I'm guessing by now most of you have seen some info on our e-book, Poker - The Power of Body Language. If not just click on the image below and have a read:

The reason for this post is to update our readers on the future formatting of this book. There are to be some slight changes. Firstly, in the upcoming weeks/months the book is to be published in paperback form. Although we are finding the majority of our members are up with technology and happy to read in electronic format, some are still old school and would prefer to read in paper form - thus the publishing.

In regards to marketing the e-book we are finding small hurdles with the name and content. Although the book is purely based on reading body language and detecting poker tells, certain search engines recognise the material as gambling. He was kind enough to invite me into his home and ask him some questions about reading other poker players body language and the importance of controlling your own poker tells.

Allan has no real interest in playing poker, however his daughter and her husband are very keen players and travel the world in search of a good game. I can't begin to imagine the advantage his daughter has being raised in an environment surrounded with body language experts such as her father.

I will be editing and posting clips from the interview over the coming days.

We addressed poker tells such as breathing, blood flow, twitching, acting weak and strong etc. All valuable information for players of all levels to take to the tables. So stay tuned for that.

I also got some insight into the products Allan has produced through his company Pease International. They range from books to CD's, DVD's and training programs all relating to improving your body language skills. Allan has a true passion for the subject and it flows through his company and the products he produces. I would recommend any of them and you can find them through his website, Pease International. I've searched the internet and found some great ways you can benefit. Yes it is a big sales drive to get cheap poker books. I just thought if I can introduce you to some great savings you would appreciate it.

We mainly recommend books for sale through Amazon as I understand a lot of people still prefer to read old style books (hardcover or paperback version). However, if your looking for a great deal and don't mind reading e-book formats I have found a better way for you to profit and become a better poker player. So you can see below you have the option to invest in your education in both forms, it's just a matter of how much you want to spend. Just take note that some of the prices maybe in US dollars, depending on where you purchase. Also be aware, with the electronic products that are packaged with these books, we are not necessarily recommending them as we have not tried most of them. The focus here is on the bonus books you get at a great price.

OR

For only $19.99 you can get the poker books: Super Systems 1 & 2, Ace on the River and Phil Gordon's Little Green Book (Mike Caro's book of poker tells is not included) PLUS you get the actual product, Pokerstars Secret System. I feel you should be happy with that if I'm able to save you some of your hard earned money.

Good luck on the tables.

Danny

Related Blogs

Texas Hold'em Poker on Facebook | Online Gambling Blog | Online Casino Info

Learn how to play holdem poker | Poker Site Reviews

Ace Poker Tips » Blog Archive » Texas Hold Em for Beginners

Can I show my hand after folding in Texas Holdem Poker? | Poker Chip Plus

Entertainment News » Blog Archive » Party Poker Player

How to become a better Poker Player!

The be all to end all. Trust the point of Poker Power and the purpose of this website is finding the best and most productive ways to become a better poker player.

So, I hear you ask, where do you start?

Let me answer that by telling you, you have already started. Imagine, taking action is always the first step to achieving what you want. You see by searching for information and websites like ours, it is just the beginning of your quest to becoming a better poker player. There are many aspects you may consider to improve you poker skills and if you haven't already realised, a lot of those aspects you can also relate to your every day life.

You already feel you can self-educate and read and learn just about anything online these days. You have to ask yourself, can you actually implement what you learn and put suggested strategies into practice. Do you read poker strategy books like Harrington on Holdem or personal development books like Think and Grow Rich and actually follow through with what they suggest? Human behaviour suggests we often take in a lot of very valuable information (and some not so valuable), yet never act upon it.

How often do you hear yourself say, "I'll do it tomorrow" or "I don't have time right now"

One of my favoured quotes (I think from Monty Python) is -

Procrastination is like masturbation, at first it feels good, but in the end you're only screwing yourself.

I cannot stress how important it is to act now. Get off your royal backside, don't put it off... make it happen. Although the saying goes you can achieve whatever you put your mind to, you actually have to go out and do it to accomplish it.

How much of this Youtube clip did you watch, did you get through the whole minute twenty seconds? If you did, you are guilty of it. You are a PROCRASTINATOR!

If you feel you are guilty of unproductive mannerisms like procrastination you have come to the right place. Our intentions are to help you with these sort of personal traits. We see the need to focus on the psychological side of poker and developing you as a person which will, in turn, improve your poker skills. So what do we suggest you work on:

Personal Development

Your mindset

Goal setting (and achieving them)

Neuro Linguistic Programming

Discipline

Self improvement

Getting out of your comfort zone

Awareness

Auto-suggestive language

Personal planning

We are currently developing a newsletter for our members which will cover these topics and more. If you are interested in subscribing please contact us.

So, do you feel you are ready to become a better poker player? You need to ask yourself, what are you going to do to achieve this?

Have you read books by the professionals like Gus Hansen and Daniel Negreanu? Have you invested in products like the Pokerstars Secret System which actually includes books like Doyle Brunson's Super Systems volume 1 and 2, Barry Greenstein's Ace on the River and Phil Gordon's Little Green Book. What about subscribing to poker magazines like Bluff Magazine? These are just a few examples of material you can read to improve your poker game, but remember YOU MUST PUT WHAT YOU LEARN INTO PRACTICE.

Of course these are ways to improve your poker skills, but what about improving YOU? What about learning discipline, personal development, achieving goals and developing your mindset? Have you read books like Think and Grow Rich (remember we give you this book when you invest in our own e-book, Poker - The Power of Body Language) by Napoleon Hill or Awaken the Giant Within by Tony Robbins. Have you considered investing in products like The Success Trace , Mind Mapping for Success or Life Smart Coaching. Have you thought about attending seminars?

I make it an important part of my own personal development and education to attend as many seminars as possible. I know they can become quite costly, but I believe my mind is my greatest asset and I will continue to feed it, whatever the cost. Understandably, some of you may be reluctant to spend big dollars on products and seminars. And hey, I was too in the beginning. So to start you off, I have arranged free tickets (value at $895 each) to Chris Howard's Breakthrough to Success Seminars for all my readers. So please take advantage of them while they last. Remember, don't procrastinate... the power is in your hands.

I'll be at the upcoming seminar in Brisbane on March 26-28, I admit I am really looking forward to it. Hopefully I will see you there.

Now it is time to deal your own destiny.

Good luck on your river.

Danny

Related Blogs

What knowledge of HUMAN BEHAVIOR do you have? Our endeavor is to gather useful information for our viewers to improve poker skills. After spending countless hours watching the players at the 2010 Crown Aussie Millions, we have only reassured ourselves that observing poker tells and reading body language is a major part of improving your poker game. We managed to ask some of the pro's what they thought on the subject and here is a taste of what Gus Hansen had to say:

Although he admits he doesn't think it is a big part of his game, Gus has taught himself to notice other players and the actions and reactions they have at the tables. He has embedded this knowledge and the ability to read players into his sub-conscious and now it comes naturally. More importantly, he says he is more cautious about giving away his own hands. This is extremely important when it comes to improving your skills in poker tells and reading body language, ensuring you are more aware of the tells you give off.

With our original beliefs in the importance of knowing players poker tells and reading body language, Nicole and I have written an e-book on the subject, Poker - The Power of Body Language. We believe this e-book will help poker players to improve their own poker game. We are proud to announce we have published it and it is ready for our members to read and enjoy. The book will be available from different websites such as Ebay, Lulu and other poker sites. The e-book has been valued through these sites for between $20-$30, however, for a limited time only our members only can purchase it for only $14.95. Just click on the link below.

BUY IT NOW!
If your having trouble with the above link contact us here.

And of course, how could we comment on Poker Tells without mentioning the name - Mike Caro. His Book of Tells needs no introduction let alone a review. Caro gives an insight of what poker tells to look for at any poker table. He is an main adversary of the 'acting strong, must be weak' and 'acting weak, must be strong' principles along with many more tells to look for. As you know, whilst we were in Melbourne for the 2010 Crown Aussie Millions Championship we caught up with Gus Hansen. We asked him to give us a personal review of his own poker book 'Every Hand Revealed' and compare it to a couple of others he might recommend.

Click here to view part of the interview with Gus Hansen

If your ever wondering what Gus Hansen is saying into his dictaphone and why; he records every hand he plays in every tournament. This book 'Every Hand Revealed' is a recap of the 2007 Aussie Millions Championship which he won. He shares his insight, the whys and whens he plays different hands. A new an very interesting idea for a poker book and plenty of tips to improve your poker skills and help you become a better poker player.

PERSONAL REVIEWS

Super System 2 by Doyle Brunson

This book gives some good advice on poker. It includes different types of poker and includes both online and face to face poker advice. It is mainly an insight into how Doyle Brunson plays in certain situations. I heard about it online. I was only interested in the bits relating to Texas Hold em. I found it an interesting point of view and have incorporated some of it into my game. I found it was a good book if you can already play a bit but want to improve. I found a lot of other books mainly address advice for beginners and therefore fairly useless. I have not read Super System 1 as online advice said this was an updated book more adapted for the modern game.

Rish - Gold Coast, Australia

Keep watching here in our Poker Power News Blog for updated book reviews from our staff, the authors, professionals and our members. We are continuously looking to post reviews from our members so we can all get different views of different books. So if you have a review or would like a book reviewed please contact us.

Good luck on the River.

Remember the Power is in Your Hands!

Best wishes,
Danny

Poker Power Website Launch

Hi and welcome to the first posting of the Poker Power Blog. We aim to help you become a better poker player.

Alex and I launched the site Tuesday, Australia Day 2010.

To mark the special occasion, we traveled to Melbourne for the 2010 Crown Aussie Millions Poker Tournament . We spent 4 days there, meeting and interviewing the players and celebrities. We had the honour of meeting the likes of Gus Hansen, Dan Shak, Tony G, Matt Rolfe, Annette Obrestad (7th), Gold Coast local - Kosta Varoxis (4th) and the 2010 Main Event Champion Tyron Krost and many more. We had a fantastic time and enjoyed every minute of the tournament.

It was a great privilege to witness first hand the mental strength, mindset and focus of poker players of all different levels. It was truly reinforced to us that there is a genuine need for personal development and self improvement for those who want to become a better poker player.

A special thanks goes to Natasha Stipanov and her team at the Crown Casino, their help and hospitality was greatly appreciated.

And of course, thanks to Alex - the man behind the camera and the website, for without him we couldn't launch in time, and there would be no footage of the interviews.

Please, enjoy the website and we will be coming out with some educational information for all viewers to read. The interviews we gathered from Melbourne will also be available soon, so we will keep you posted.
